Imagine you were told that you only have a few months to raise $15,000 to save your child, mother, father, sibling or anyone who means the world to you. Do you have the funds readily available? Would you roll over and give up because the mountain seems so high? Or would you do everything in your power to raise the money because you know that your loved one is depending on you?
Would you reach out to your community for help? Would you get down on your knees and beg strangers for help? Would you sell anything of value to try and raise the funds? Would you step out of your comfort zone and abandon your pride?
Welcome to my world.. there is a little boy, my son living in another country.. living like this
That is if he is one of the lucky ones with toys on his crib. Many of the orphans do not. They spend most of their days laying in those cribs because there is just too many for the staff. They are the forgotten children shunned from their country because they are deemed unteachable and unworthy.
Cliff was deemed that and Cliff is my son.. as sure as if I had carried him for 9 months and given birth to him. He is mine and he is worthy. And I have been told that I have a few short months to raise $15,000 to save him.. To save him from the inevitable..life like this:
Or worse.. death! Over 90% of the children transferred to institutions from orphanages perish in the first year. Once a child is transferred to an institution it makes it that much more difficult to save them. It is IMPERATIVE for me to save my son soon.
I could roll over and give up! I could say this mountain is too high for me to climb! But I would never say that about any of my children and when I committed to Cliff he became my child and he deserves nothing less than every ounce of fight I have in me.
So here I am a mother on her hands and knees begging my community and begging strangers to help me save my son. I challenge each and every one of you to open your eyes and your hearts and do something. Maybe adoption is not an option but maybe you could spare $10.00 or even $5.00 for my son. The amount seems daunting but if 1500 people gave a tax deductible donation of $10.00 the ransom for my son would be paid. Even a dollar gets us a dollar closer to saving our son. Every donation is tax deductible and goes to a recognized public charity! And I beg of you even if you can't donate please share my page! Maybe someone else is out there that might help me on this journey. My first post ever talked about a village and I need more people in mine. I really want to raise the funds necessary sooner rather than later. Money is the biggest hurdle I have in saving my son.
I challenge each of you to look in the bottom of your purses, in your couch cushions or just one day give up that latte and donate to Cliff and share share share this! Coming up short is just not an option for Cliff. Because coming up short for Cliff means giving up and I won't do that to him.
I made a small donation. I will donate more when I can. Know that I am praying for your family and especially for Cliff. God bless!!
