Tuesday's thoughts!

We sold 14 puzzle pieces and I am just so happy. Thank you for those that have been praying, reading, sharing and to those that have bought some of our puzzle pieces! Every puzzle piece brings us that much closer to completing our family puzzle. If you are looking at this and wondering what I am talking about click here and you can read about our current fundraising effort. If you do purchase a puzzle piece please make sure you comment on that page!

Don't forget you can also win a gift from us just simply by sharing, tweeting, blogging about our story and our puzzle fundraiser. If you do just come back here and post a comment on just how you shared and you could be the receiver of that gift!

Last night I went to bed and kept thinking about Joshua. From now on I am probably going to refer to him as the name he will be given rather than the alias he has now. I know his real name but at this time I can't reveal that. We both discussed whether keeping his real name as opposed to changing it would be a good idea. At this point we think he is young enough that changing his name would not pose too much of an emotional issue however, if when we meet him it looks as though it would cause any confusion to him we have an alternate name to fall back on. Again I can't reveal the alternate as it is close to his real name but stay tuned...  Anyway the bottom line of me referring to him now as Joshua is he is a real boy with a real family working hard to get to him. He is not some stranger living with an alias. He is Joshua Dawson Warner, our son! What are your thoughts on this??

It is a bit hard sometimes when I try to go to sleep. With the time differences there I often lie in bed thinking.. Joshua is starting his day today. I guess for some reason if I know he is sleeping it gives me a little bit of comfort that he might not be completely aware of his surroundings. So of course when I am trying to sleep the thoughts of him laying there awake possibly just staring at the crib bars makes for a difficult beginning to sleep. It is funny while I am doing the paper chase shuffle he is sleeping unaware of what is going on in a far, far country all for his cute little butt. With each passing day we get one step closer to him but it can't come soon enough for us! I am praying that some of the other families that are going to adopt from that orphanage can somehow sneak us a new picture or give us an update on how he is doing. I am sure he has changed so much already! I can't wait for the day that I will be part of all his changes and all his memories! Have a great Tuesday and God bless everyone!

  2. Regarding Joshua's name: I've seen a lot of adoptive families changing the child's first name and keeping their birth name as the middle name. Have you considered doing that? Although it's a very nice name you've chosen. :) And since he's still so young I don't think it would confuse him.

    Praying for you!
