Make a difference today

Today is the last day for anyone wanting to purchase a puzzle piece to bring Joshua home. Click here for details!

My last post was on Friday and this weekend I spent moving kids bedrooms around. I was disappointed when our criminals did not come on Friday or Saturday so I decided to try to keep my mind occupied as best as I could so hauling furniture up and downstairs seemed like a good idea. Physically it kept me busy but my mind was still on Joshua.

My husband and I discussed options on raising the needed funds in such a short time. Have I told you how much I love my husband? Well when we were in the beginning stages of talking about adoption, my husband was so concerned on the financial aspects of an adoption. He wanted to move forward but money kept holding him back a bit. After we saw Joshua, we just both knew that this little boy belonged to us. Anyway he still was concerned about the money needed to complete the adoption. I was like oh honey I can raise the funds.. I see others raising the money I can do that :) So we were in the car yesterday and I said to him that I felt odd asking for all this help while so many others need help bringing their little ones home as well. And with the situation in Japan- well there is just so much need everywhere and I absolutely hate feeling like I am guilting others into helping. Anyways he said to me that the only thing that makes a home is family and without Joshua we do not have a home. He said he would give up everything and live in a cardboard box if it meant that all of us could be together. He knows that until Joshua is with us we are not complete. He is a great daddy and husband!

I can't compete with some of the other fundraisers out there. And truth is I have no desire in competing. I have always said that it is about these children. Not just Joshua but all the children waiting on their forever families. My need is no greater or no less than anyone else. There has been such tragedy in our world and the bottom line is just help someone. Whether it is a kind word or action- take today to make a difference in someones life. God bless everyone!
