A couple of days I posted about Kirill and his family. I do not have all the details but the family does have hope through an appeals process so please pray they are successful. It looks promising but keep praying for them.
I also had a link on that post that talked about a little girl named Carrington. For those who may not have seen it or gone to the link let me tell you a little about her. Carrington is I believe 3 or almost 4 years old. Carrington was found by her forever family the Burmans. Doesn't she look so healthy and cute?
Here is Carrington on her "gotcha" day!
And as her new mom peeled the layers lovingly off her daughter- They say a picture is worth a thousand words... well this rendered me speechless when I first saw it.
This beautiful little girl starved and emaciated. ELEVEN POUNDS is all she weighs!! ELEVEN! Do you see why the statistic is that 90% of our children will die within the first year of transfer out of their baby houses?? This little girl was days within death. A little girl deemed by her society as having little value and not deserving of a family. Once our children are transferred they stand little chance of survival. They are taken from the safety of a baby house and thrown into an institution where the weak do not stand a chance. Where workers despise them and view them not as human but as a paycheck. How do you look at this child and deem her anything but beautiful and worthy? How do you watch a child slowly die of starvation without intervening? It is happening and this is why we will not give up on our journey for Joshua. This is why I want to help others who are adopting. You can ignore my words but you CAN'T ignore the pictures.
Thank God that Carrington was rescued in time. Pray for those children who were not and who are still waiting. Thank God that Carrington is now in the US and in a hospital that is working hard to get her healthy. They are amazed she literally has hung on this long and her body is in shut down mode.Pray that their efforts are successful and swift. Be thankful for what you have and pray for those less fortunate.
