We got our fingerprints done!! YAY! After another almost 3 hour trek to and fro we finally got them done. Was pretty funny when we realized how quickly it takes to get it done and realizing that when we went in yesterday there was nobody there and the finger printers were just standing around waiting and yet they still sent us away. We just had to shake our heads. But they are complete and we are thrilled.
Next step? More wait... tomorrow I will call to see if we have been assigned a caseworker yet and notify them that we went in and got all our fingerprints taken so they can update our file with that info. I have one senator that I have not tapped yet that I am going to call on Monday to see if we can get approval expedited. Basically there are 3 parts that make a USCIS file complete. First is your application with fees. That was sent in on March 17th. Second is your homestudy. That was sent in April 4th. Final piece is the biometric fingerprints of all 18 and older people in the home. We did that yesterday. All our pieces are there and waiting for a caseworker to review and approve. Praying that on Monday my phone call to this new senator proves helpful. If I can get approval within the next two weeks it looks very promising on making it before any shutdown occurs. That is my goal. That is my hope. I hope that it is God's goal and hope for us as well.
We have just over 2 weeks for our giftaway. I ask that you still consider making a tax deductible donation or purchase an art print made by my son and be entered into our giftaway. We are still offering an extra chance for those that share our fundraiser as well. Remember to click the giftaway link and put your name in for a comment for an extra chance.
I have applied for some grants to help raise the funds we need. We have been told it might take as long as 60 days for approval or denial. We DO not have 60 days so please pray one way or the other we hear something sooner. But know this for sure.. we firmly believe that God intends for Joshua to be ours. We intend to make it happen whether it be through the blessing of others helping us or seeking to fund his ransom on our own. It may not be God's will for us to be fully funded through fundraisers and if that is the case so be it but I do know with all my heart that it is God's will for us to continue this path to reach and save our son. The closer we move to making that a reality the more resolve and the more sure I am that this is exactly the right path for us!
