Nothing new on our front today. Still waiting to hear about our UCSIS application. We need to get our fingerprint appointment from them and then they have all the pieces to approve. Please pray that they work fast to approve us so we can get to him as quickly as possible.
Remember Kirill? Well if you have been reading my blog then you will know his story well. Well the Hook family went before the same judge who denied Kirill of a forever family. They were there to bring their daughter, Evan home. Well the prayers for the family worked as the judge APPROVED their adoption of Evan. Continue to keep the Davis family in your hearts as this judge now has their appeal in her hands and can choose to change her mind about Kirill's adoption. If she changes her mind and allows him now to be adopted then it will not have to go to the Supreme Court there. Here's hoping that maybe she has seen the light since her denial and that her allowing Evan to be adopted is an indication as such.
Carrington is doing much better but she still has a long way to recovery. I won't go into all the details but click here and you can see some pictures and a little video of this precious child of God.
Twitter users- Patricia Heaton formerly of Everybody Loves Raymond and current star of In the Middle of ABC has jumped on the Reece's Rainbow wagon. After not only hearing about Kirill but viewing the lost angels or those children of RR who have passed away before finding their forever families she has offered $1 for every tweeter who follows Reeces Rainbow up to $10,000! This has prompted other celebrities to tweet about RR!! It is great to get this exposure for Reece's Rainbow. How great is it that some bigger names are learning now what we have been trying to express all along!! If you want to help you can sign up for twitter and type in @reecesrainbow and click follow. While you are at it make sure to type in @patriciaheaton to follow her as well. Even if you have no idea how to twitter (I do not) it costs nothing to start an account and by doing so helping some orphans and being their voice. Told you- you do not have to adopt to help! :)
Our local newspaper will be running our story and about RR!! I am super excited yet my stomach does have some butterflies in it. I have always said I am not this WOW factor type of person. I go to my local Kroger store with my binder of coupons wearing my sweatpants on most occasions. I probably am not noticed at all unless I jumped out of bed and have my bedhead going to my 7-11 for the paper. There is always a fear that I am setting myself and my family up for some people to express negativity about our choice of adopting. I pray that it will be a positive experience for not only our family but for Reece's Rainbow and the children. At the same time, Jacob's fundraising project will be getting underway. Please pray that we are not only successful for our adoption but that we can really make this big enough to help other families. My husband told me not to be disappointed if it does not go as well as I want it to. I can at least say that I put my heart into it and hopefully it does well. The point is I might be able to touch others with my story and if I can bring awareness to just one extra person then it will have been worth it.
Well here is hoping everyone's Friday goes well. There is a family out there that I ask for extra prayers as they learn about their homestudy and find out in what direction their journey is going to go. Pray for them and all the families on their journeys. Again time is of the essence for so many families not just ours.
