Paper chase day one

This will be my last post until Thursday because...... we are going to be leaving region tomorrow!! So the paper chasing of day one did not go as smoothly as we would have liked. Some papers that were needed from Kiev did not get sent with us and we traveled to Joshua's city to get his new birth certificate and THEN they realized they were missing the papers. So the papers are traveling via train and will be here in the morning so it was looking doubtful for us to leave for at least 5 days... 5 days because the passport agency is working tomorrow but then will not be working again till next week. Thankfully we have an awesome facilitator who begged and pleaded for us to get the new certificate without the papers we needed and they agreed. It of course cost us a little more but in the long run it was more economical since without it again we would be waiting for 5 days which means apartment costs for 5 more days. Our facilitator really never thought her begging etc would work but thankfully it did.

So new birth certificate and social security is done. All that is left is the passport tomorrow morning and closing his bank account out and taking it to the orphanage. Then they will dress Joshua in his new outfit and we will bust him out of there and head straight to the train station. We will take the train to Kiev and we have an embassy appointment on Thursday and Friday. THEN at 3a on Saturday we head to the airport for our 5:30a flight and after a 6 hour layover in Frankfurt we will arrive in our state at 4:50p. So as you see it will not be before Thursday when I can post all about gotcha day etc.

I just want to thank everyone again for all the support. We have gotten our second wind of sorts and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no way that we would have been able to embark on this journey without the support and prayers of everyone. Please keep praying for us and for our journey home as well.

I can still remember wanting to help little "Cliff" so much, and hoping he'd get a family. Makes me happy that this is where my Christmas money went to :)
