Yes that is right.. a new update :) I have to admit that I have been trying to decompress and step away from the computer for large amounts of time. I would think.. wow it has been forever since I blogged but then I would be like oh tomorrow is another day.It just seemed like tomorrow then turned into another tomorrow and so on.
Life is good here. I mean life is life and that means up and down but I can sum it up into good! After returning home our whole house got sick.. really sick. Many trips to ER for Jacob and his croup. They tested him for RSV and flu and it turned out to be RSV. For those without children who carry the extra 21 chromosome it might not seem all that dangerous but for our kiddos who already struggle with small passageways it can be quite an ordeal. Jacob struggled with 102 temperature, coughing, croupy and stuffed up nose for almost 2 weeks before finally being more normal. His appetite is still not there but slowly but surely my little stubborn child is returning. The older boys found themselves with the cough, sore throat and stuffy nose. For them they had the added bloody noses throughout the day. Dave and I had sinus issues, cough and generally tired. But guess what? Joshua was healthy as can be during the whole thing. In fact his newest x-ray showed absolutely no pneumonia. We are still working on getting a steady weight gain and have added pediasure to his daily diet.
I will be posting pictures soon but can I just say-- he is the most beautiful little 16 month old boy!! He is really starting to show his personality and spunk. We rarely ever heard him cry at the orphanage and boy has that changed. He learned really quick to make himself known loud and clear. He no longer winces when we change him. He no longer cries when he hears the spoon scrape the bowl. He knows he will leave the table with a full belly! He goes to bed like a dream. At around 8:00p, I rock him while he plays with my hair and at 8:30 I lie him in his crib and turn on his gloworm and he is out within 5 minutes. He loves to stretch out on my belly and make these animal sounds then he bends down to kiss me.. so cute. The only little attitude I have started to see is when he lays his head on my shoulder he tries to bite it and when I say no bite... well the little stinker opens his mouth wider and starts heading back to my shoulder lol. Yep that boy belongs right here in our family. He loves toys that are quiet while Jacob loves the ones that make the most noise or flash the brightest. So needless to say that every single toy in the toy box ends up out and played with.
Tomorrow night we have church and Joshua is getting baptised then! Super excited to go to our church and have his name announced and show off our newest member of our family! His grandma bought him a cute white suit and he is going to be stylin'.
Well time for me to attempt to put Jacob to bed. I want to thank everyone for hanging in there with me and following us throughout our journey. I still wake up and have to pinch myself to make sure it really happened and he is finally here. Then I take my drowsy butt out of bed and head into his room just to see the biggest smile come over his face and a little boy ready to start the day and bring me more joy than I could imagine
It's soooo good for Joshua to be HOME! Love you...
