This has been a blessing for sure but it has also meant raising the funds quickly more of an issue. Those that have been reading my blog understand my fundraising woes. I had always entertained the idea of possibly bringing another child home if we raised a full grant for Joshua plus the additional approximate 5k for a second child at the same orphanage. As we moved further through the process it became a reality that we would not probably get fully funded or raise anything extra for a second child. I remember when I committed to Cliff seeing a couple little boys and a little girl on RR in the same orphanage. At that time 1 of the other boys had a family and the little girl did as well. My husband had said at that time.. you know it would be awfully hard to leave that one little lone boy there when we brought Cliff home. We continued on our journey and did become approved for 2 children but in the meantime the last lone boy found his forever family and that family was the one that had committed to the little girl.. He was going to have a sister :) This brought Dave and I much happiness as this family had been in process since October for the little girl and I knew their forever family would come soon for them.
Fast forward to today- loading up facebook I see on my wall--- Maeve has lost her forever family... GASP the same family for Blake... no not him too... a short time later I see-- Blake has lost his family too!! I called Dave.. how could this be? They were just ready to submit?? I do not have those answers nor could I possibly judge any family in this process.. it is grueling- events beyond the control of people. I do not have time to dwell on why! I have to do something!! Again financially we are stretching to bring Joshua home.. to bring another child home requires about 5k more and we just can't raise the initial for Joshua so to try and raise that additional 5k for Blake is not realistic at this time. Truly Dave and I struggle with WHAT CAN WE DO? What I can do is advocate for these two children. Show their faces and hope that someone sees them and says they can get either of them. Blake holds a special place in my heart- remember he and Cliff were the ones available at the same time. So here they are... Blake and Maeve!
Here is Blake and his picture taken in Feb 2011.. he was 14 months in this picture
Maeve- born in January 2010.. first picture on RR

Next picture is Maeve taken at Thanksgiving time at approximately 11 months old
Here are their descriptions on RR along with links to them directly on Reece's Rainbow!
Maeve is also healthy, but does have a 6th finger on her right hand. This can be surgically removed if you prefer, or not! She is a sweetie!!
$2594.50 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
Love the chubby arms on this baby! Blake is listed as healthy, with no heart condition! He is growing well and maybe he can celebrate his first birthday at home with his "forever family"!
$3091.50 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
Maybe neither one did make it to their forever family before their first birthday but maybe we can find them their family before their second!! Please get the word out on these cuties.. breaks my heart!! Right now advocating for them is all we can do :(

oh no! blake had a special place in my heart too! when i was "picking" which child to be the christmas warrior for, i kept going back and forth between cliff and blake! so sad! :(
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful children, and I was so sad to see today that they had lost their family. Praying that they will be chosen soon. Love the pic of big boy Blake!! Praying also for you, dear Warners, and Joshua, that he may be safe and know somehow that you are coming for him very soon.
ReplyDeletemaeve has a special place in my heart. she was born a few weeks after my daughter passed away. my kids gave up their Christmas gift money to donate to her. we have been praying for her and following her since she was first listed. i was crushed when i saw her back on RR. i put out a massive facebook spam to all my friends and groups, and i actually have someone respond. they said they are going to commit to her! so i am praying they come through, and praying for Blake's new family to come through asap also!
